The Kirkwood Tutorial ProgramThe Kirkwood Program is designed to help parents of children who attend public or private school. The educational program empowers parents to truly be able to help their child at the point of need in vocabulary, spelling, reading, and math. The program is not for parents who want to totally delegate the education of their child to the state, or other institutions; but for parents who have the heart and desire for the very best education for their child. The Kirkwood Program provides the tools for growth in Christian character and academic success. It is absolutely critical that parents understand the philosophical underpinnings of the program and the educational tools that will empower them. In the Kirkwood Program, academic achievement is seen as an outcome variable as a function of growth in Christian character. This is the same program used for training teachers in Christian Schools with the exception of monitoring teacher performance to ensure their ability to foster growth in their students. If a parent does not have the time or desire to study the training materials, the program is not for them. Finally, the objective of the Kirkwood Program is not simply to help students who may not be achieving at grade level, but to help them develop as much of their tremendous God given potential as possible. It should also be recognized that it is not necessarily the child who learns quickly and easily, but the child who may have to overcome difficulties who can develop the strength of character to ultimately become highly successful and make a contribution for good in this world. |
